After the UK tour of On Your Feet! Was forced to cancel due to Covid. A year later the band got back together to revisit one of the tracks from the show. Last week I had the great pleasure of sitting in with Daniel Hayward. He was playing at The Mayflower in Southampton doing Dreamgirls. It was fantastic to watch him doing his thing, what a player! I don’t kwow how these guys do it, the click track starts and stops at the most inconvenient time and the tempos are forever changing. You need to be able to play all musical styles and also sight read whaever is put in front of you, big balls very much required…! I think I’ll stick to playing Mustang Sally down the Dog & Duck… The show continues it's tour so if you get the chance, go and see it, the drumming is epic! 🥁

James has played on numerous shows including: Honk!, Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Sound of Music, West Side Story, The Wizard of Oz, On your Feet as well as numerous Pantomines. Al Teatro Regio va in scena Evita, il celebre musical di Andrew Lloyd Webber, su versi di Tim Rice, scritto nel 1978 e liberamente ispirato alla vita di María Eva Duarte de Perón (1919 – 1952), affettuosamente chiamata Evita, First Lady nell’Argentina degli anni Quaranta. Questa produzione di Evita è la prima in assoluto che vede impegnata dal vivo un’orchestra sinfonica: Sir Lloyd Webber in persona si è occupato della revisione e orchestrazione della partitura, con David Cullen. Per l’occasione l’Orchestra del Teatro Regio è diretta da David Steadman. Il Musical, in due atti, verrà presentato nell’edizione originale in lingua inglese con sopratitoli in italiano, una produzione di Bill Kenwright in accordo con The Really Useful Group. Al Regio, Evita è in cartellone dal 4 al 9 maggio, per un totale di 8 recite, sono queste le uniche date italiane del tour internazionale. Lo spettacolo ha la regia di Bob Tomson e Bill Kenwright, la coreografia di Bill Deamer, le scene e i costumi di Matthew Wright, luci di Tim Oliver, suono di Dan Samson. Evita, the famous musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber, with lyrics by Tim Rice, will be performed at Teatro Regio on Friday, 04 May at 08.00 pm. Composed in 1978, it was freely inspired by the life of María Eva Duarte de Perón (1919 – 1952), affectionately called Evita, First Lady of Argentina in the 1940s. This production is the absolute premiere of Evita performed by a symphony orchestra. Sir Lloyd Webber has personally revised and orchestrated the score with David Cullen. On this occasion, the Orchestra of Teatro Regio is conducted by David Steadman. The Musical in two acts, produced by Bill Kenwright in partnership with The Really Useful Group, will be presented in the original English version with overhead titles in Italian. Evita is scheduled for 4-9 May on Teatro Regio’s playbill with overall 8 performances. These are the Italian dates of the international tour. The musical is directed by Bob Tomson and Bill Kenwright, with choreography by Bill Deamer, scenes and costumes by Matthew Wright, lights by Dan Samson, and sound by Tim Oliver.

Saturday Night Fever tells the story of Tony Manero, who escapes the harsh realities of working-class Brooklyn life when he embarks on a reckless, yet thrilling road to dancing success. Matthew Bourne Company, Streetdance The Movie and Casualty star Richard Winsor plays Tony, the role which famously rocketed John Travolta to stardom. Featuring the Bee Gees hits Stayin’ Alive, How Deep Is Your Love, Night Fever, Tragedy and More Than a Woman as well as 70’s favourites Boogie Shoes, Disco Inferno and many more.
