Bio and Recent Projects
Dan Hayward is a drummer and percussionist based in the West Midlands area of the U.K.
He started playing drums at a very early age, his dad is a drummer and as a result of growing up watching him play, Dan was naturally drawn to the instrument.
Dan's formal music education started at high school with tuition provided by Sandwell Youth Music, progressing through his graded exams and playing for marching bands, brass bands, theatre productions and dance bands in the local area as well as the education authority ensembles.
After sixth form, he gained a place at the prestigious Birmingham Conservatoire (now the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire) to study Orchestral Percussion. Whilst there, Dan crafted a reputation as a very reliable, dedicated and able player. As a result of this, Dan was lucky enough to be able to work with a variety of Artists/Ensembles during his time in Birmingham as well as being able to tour to many locations around the globe, graduating from the Conservatoire in 2010 with a BMus (Hons) degree.
